According to the public relations office of Amirkabir University of Technology, citing the report of the Iranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (IranDoc), 71 Iranian institutions are among the top 3000 institutions in the world based on the 2023 report of the "Ranking of Universities based on Scientific Performance" or "URAP" system.
Amirkabir University of Technology, in the 2023 edition of "URAP", has been ranked 517th globally and is in the fifth position nationally and first among the technical and engineering universities. Sharif University of Technology is ranked 571st nationally and eighth among the top institutions.
